Becky takes on a jazz composition of “Stay“ by Rihanna with featured vocalist Drew Gibson. Produced/Directed by her husband, grammy award winning producer, trumpeter, composer Willie Murrillo. Becky Martin has been featured in numerous studio projects and toured with legendary Arturo Sandoval. Willie has recorded and toured with Brian Setzer Orchestra and Gordon Goodwin’s Big Phat Band. Together they visit and teach at Universities and High Schools world wide as Guest Artist Duo working with aspiring musicians.

Art Walk | Rey Mora

In movement there is life, growth, and evolution. Things that do not move – die. For Rey Mora, his artwork represents a lifting and moving of the spirit. This exhibition will highlight his Colibrí Collection with images of the hummingbird – a tiny, but mighty, creature in our environment that exemplifies movement.

A movement leads to progress, advancement, and improvement. Groups that do not move together – end. By integrating culturally relevant depictions and universal mathematical symbols into his art, Rey Mora expresses the ideal that we are all connected as we move through life on this planet.

LOFTon2nd is proud to host artist Rey Mora for two special evenings in June. Events are free and open to the public.

We asked our friends over at IE Photo Rentals to judge the best photo from the July 12, 2015 TestShoot in the Loft. The photo above, by Tram Patam, won. Congratulations Tram, you won a 2 hour Weekday Photo Rental in the Loft ($300 value).

We Journey (3rd Annual)

LOFTon2nd is proud to celebrate the innovation, art and strength of Pan Africans past, present and future. For the third year, we present a very special show, “We Journey”.

Los Angeles resident artist, Shamala Bennu Auset, was catapulted into art, color, forms, and ancestral reverence. Exploring a unique narrative, her three-dimensional, textured use of acrylic, called scultpaint, honors the strength of African peoples, both in Africa and in the Diaspora, sharing not merely a common history, but a common journey.

Art Walk: Xavier & Friends

Along with some friends, Xavier’s one night show will undoubtedly be one you won’t want to miss. He is a local Pomona Artist who has been involved in the Arts Community for at least fifteen years.

Behind the Scenes

HBO True Blood began staging the block last week (3 days of set up) for today’s scene. On the set is Anna Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse and Sam Trammell as Sam Merlotte.

They are filming the rest of the day and striking the set tomorrow to move up the street in nearby Linocln Park.
