6p-10p February 8, 2014

Three loved artists, unveiling brand new work, all in one night. Their art will remain up for the duration of the month (by appointment only) and most pieces will be for sale (priced for all budgets). Come out and meet the artists.

Trellis EvansTrellis Evans of EvansEyePhotography is an editorial fashion photographer working with some of Los Angeles’ most beautiful talent. Last year Trellis made a trip to Ethiopia and was privileged to bring back a beautiful array of photos that warmly share the soul of those he came in contact with. Trellis will display both works side by side, exhibiting both the contrast and similarities of cultures. Both environments instinctly beautiful, yet both uniquely diverse.

John LeeJohn Lee, a seasoned photographer, is displaying a unique flag painting that will speaks of the pain, joy and perseverance many experience throughout the journey. John studied at the Memphis College of Art and is continuing his art education at the University of La Verne. John was co-owner of the innovative TwentyMilesEast gallery in Pomona, which was instrumental in bringing legendary African-American artists from around the globe, right here on our block.

Dan RomeroDan Romero, world-renown Metal Sculpturer, will be presenting a collection of new sculptures entitled “Busting Thru!” A collection of rebardoorknobs, angst and flight. Dan’s work is featured through Europe. Recently, he worked with various artists in Germany, serving as the US Ambassador. You can find his work locally at the Sam Maalof Museum, the 2nd Street Sculpture Park and in his private studio located at the Pomona Packing Plant.

Henry & 9th Launch

We were honored last night to host the launch of Henry & 9th, a men’s accessory company featuring a new line of gentleman’s pocket squares. The Loft was full of dapper gentleman and dashing ladies toasting the future success of Jeremy Hunter, founder of Henry & 9th.

“Clothes make the man.  Naked people have little or no influence on society” – Samuel Langhorne Clemens (aka Mark Twain)

Such words underscore a universal truism:  a person’s sense of style merits the attention of others.  Thus, at Henry and 9th, we believe that even the smallest detail – yes, something as simple as an accessory – can make a substantial impression.

Inspired by the eclectic style of Red Hook, Brooklyn, USA, our company blends contemporary style with the classic suiting standards that have withstood the test of time.  Thus, whether you prefer the flare of bold patterns, or the conservative appeal of classic solids, we are confident you will find the right design to accentuate your suiting preference.

Yes, details matter.  Prepare to make an impression based on your individuality and sense of style.  In the end, accessorize your wardrobe with a view toward making an impression.

Wedding: Jamie & Jonathan

When my husband and I first opened our art gallery, I secretly dreamed of the opportunity to design a wedding amongst the historic brick walls, tall windows and aged wood floors. I’ve been designing weddings for close to twelve years and could of nothing more thrilling to design one in our gallery.

Jamie & Jonathan came to me after finding the Loft on and knew this space was perfect for them.

We started with simple ceremony in the Loft followed by a unique cocktail hour in the Sculpture Park (across the street) before heading back up to the Loft for dinner and dancing. It was a truly beautiful experience designing a simple tasteful unique wedding for an equally unique couple.

ART WALK: The Art of Movement

When many of our visitors think of ART, they may think of paintings, drawings and sculpture. Many of them think of ART as a visual item to be hung over the mantle or displayed on the coffee table. We are pleased to focus this month’s “Student Art” exhibit on the ART of Movement. This is a ONE NIGHT ONLY show and will be full of energy and life. Don’t miss it.

IanFeaturing photographer, Ian Elston, a gifted and detailed engineer who has worked with EdisonBoeingNorthrop Grumman. As a distinguished graduate of the University of Southern California and the Art Institute of California – Orange County, Elston has had the honor of photographing numerous subjects, including the USC Repertory Dance Company and USC Chamber Ballet Company. He will be exhibiting a collection of images from these groups.
